The zipper is the first thing to fail on a mosquito net: it snags the fine mesh, jams, and splits, and every zipper adds weight. So we left it out. Entry is from the bottom, completely sealed by an elastic edge (and by the hammock itself in hammock mode). Fewer failure points, less weight, and far easier to get in and out. It’s a design ultralight hammock campers have relied on for years.
