Carry less to enjoy more

Carry less to enjoy more

Carry too much and every step slows you down. Carry too little and you give up comfort and rest. The 3-in-1 Cape settles the dilemma: a rain poncho that becomes a hammock, or a tarp when the sky turns. One piece of gear that replaces three.

Three functions. Less weight. More freedom

  • Waterproof protection: 3000 mm rating, fully taped seams, hood with stiffened brim.
  • Backpack coverage: slightly longer at the back to cover backpacks up to 70 L.
  • Adjustable fit: elastic belt to adapt the length & snap buttons to regulate ventilation.
  • Fast conversion system: built-in daisy chain straps for quick transformation.
  • Ultralight suspension kit: tree straps and carabiners included, knot-free setup.
  • 70D ripstop nylon fabric: designed to hold up to 150 kg for a safe rest.
  • Versatile shelter: 8 attachment loops all around for a versatile pitch.
  • Guylines: the 4 suspension straps double as guylines, no extra cords needed.
  • Hood closure: roll like a dry bag and secure with snaps to create a waterproof seal .

★★★★★

"It won’t replace my tent, and it doesn’t try to. That’s what sold me, honestly. In the Alps I still carry a shelter. But the Cape covers the rain on the trail, gives me somewhere to relax in the evening, and rigs as a windbreak in about two minutes. 570 g for all that is an easy yes."

Alex
★★★★★

"In the field a poncho-tarp is standard kit. What I hadn’t seen before is one you can hang. The suspension is built in, so it’s maybe a minute from wearing it to lying in it, no knots. I’m 90 kg and it doesn’t flinch. It’s in my survival kit now."

Max
★★★★★

"I spent six months on the road with it strapped to the outside of my pack. Monsoon in Laos, then the Atacama in full sun. I used the hammock most nights and the poncho more than I expected. What it really bought me was space in the bag."

Hugo
★★★★★

"It lives in the van. Poncho when the weather turns, tarp over the cooker so we can eat outside in the rain, hammock strung between the van and a tree for an afternoon nap. It takes no space, so there’s never a reason to take it out."

Zoe
★★★★★

"Bought it for festivals. Now it never leaves my bag."

Great for any adventure

  • Travel and backpacking — one piece of kit instead of three in the bag
  • Hiking and trekking — poncho on the trail, hammock at camp
  • Bivouacs and wild camping — hang it as a hammock, or pitch it as a shelter if the rain comes
  • Van life and road trips — a tarp to eat outside in the rain, a hammock to relax
  • Festivals — shade by day, somewhere to lie down by night
  • Survival and bushcraft — the poncho-tarp you already know, plus a hammock

FAQ

It’s the first thing people ask us, and it’s a fair question. The Cape isn’t a compromise that tries to do everything: it’s a full poncho (3,000 mm, taped seams, covers packs up to 70 L), a real hammock (rated to 150 kg, suspension kit included) and a working tarp (8 tie-out loops, suspension straps as guylines). The ISPO Award and French Outdoor Awards juries recognized it for exactly that. What it won’t do is replace a four-season tent or a high-end camp hammock. Like a Swiss army knife, it wins when weight matters.

The Cape measures 2.60 × 1.40 m and adjusts with its built-in elastic belt. In poncho mode it comfortably covers anyone from 1.50 m to 1.95 m, and it’s cut longer at the back to cover a backpack up to 70 L.

About a minute to go from poncho to hammock, with no knots to tie. The daisy chain straps are built into the Cape; the tree straps and carabiners (or soft-links on the Ultralight) are included, and everything packs back into the stuff sack.

To sleep covered you’d need a separate tarp above you. The Cape cannot be both a hammock and a tarp at the same time. That said, if the rain catches you out, you can always pitch it as a shelter and sleep on the ground, which no other hammock lets you do. Also, the fabric dries fast.

In tarp mode, the Cape is a backup shelter, not a tent. For a fair-weather bivvy it’s plenty. For a night of heavy rain, it works alongside your existing gear rather than instead of it. Our customers often use it to create a group shelter, a cooking space, a dry extension, or cover from wind and sun.

The Classic if you want durability and value. The Ultralight if every gram counts: 100 g lighter, a smaller pack size (but note the 120 kg load rating instead of 150 kg).
